INVITATION: Virtual Seminar "Public Spending and the Role of the State"

18.06.2021

The Permanent Representation of Poland to the OECD has a great pleasure to invite you to attend the webinar on the Public Spending and the Role of the State. The event in virtual format will be held on June 24th from 14:00 to 15:30 (CET).

The rise of public and private debt seems one of the most negative legacies of the current economic crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic that has only amplified previous challenges observed in many OECD countries. Though the policy focus remains still on tackling the virus, expanding vaccination programs, targeting the fiscal stimulus on the most vulnerable and developing effective recovery plans, it is of paramount importance to reflect on a more general question – the size of the state and effectiveness of public spending.

In the context of a recent elevation of the OECD Committee of Senior Budget Officials, the webinar organized by the Polish Permanent Representation is aimed at presenting views from eminent academicians and the OECD on the crucial issue of managing public spending in the post-crisis times.

To attend the webinar, kindly register by sending an email to the following address: piotr.krawczyk3@msz.gov.pl
