At a meeting organised by the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the OSCE, Belarusian opposition leader-in-exile Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya called for the OSCE to continue to exert political pressure on the Lukashenko regime. She asked the participating States of the informal Group of Friends of Democratic Belarus to plead for political prisoners in Belarus at the OSCE and demand their immediate release. She also called for broad support for civil society still active in Belarus despite widespread repression.
Poland continues to call on Belarusian decision-makers to release all political prisoners, including Andrzej Poczobut, who has been detained since March 2021, and to stop the repression targeting Belarusian society.
