The exhibition, organized by the Polish OSCE Chairmanship, consists of pictures taken by Polish photographers (Darek Delmanowicz, Iwona El Tanbouli-Jabłońska, Arkadiusz Gola, Sebastian Indra, Ania Klosek, Gabriel Piętka, Dominika Podczaska) at the Polish-Ukrainian border which since the start of the Russian aggression has been crossed by millions of people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

“Kriege gehören ins Museum. Wars belong in a museum. This is the motto of Heeresgeschichtliches Museum. Yet, for already almost one hundred days, we are witnessing the outgoing unlawful and horrifying Russian aggression against Ukraine.” – said Polish Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Ambassador Adam Hałaciński in his opening remarks. “One of the most heartbreaking results of this war is the fate of children in Ukraine who face fear and destruction. Their childhoods are being abruptly disrupted. Millions of Ukrainian children are at risk of growing up without the care they need. Many of them had to leave their homes and run away to seek refuge.” – he added.

The exhibition brought together numerous permanent representatives to the OSCE and UN, and other diplomats. The event was attended by children from Ukraine who had to flee their homeland. They contributed to the exhibition preparing moving musical performances and paintings presenting their concept of a peaceful future.

The event served as an opportunity to raise funds for SOS-Children´s Villages providing immediate support in Ukraine. The exhibition is available in the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum until 15 June.
