At the end of the past year, we had the opportunity to participate in an expert project organised by EUBAM Rafah (European Union Border Assistance Mission) in cooperation with the GABC - General At the end of the past year, we had the opportunity to participate in an expert project organised by EUBAM Rafah (European Union Border Assistance Mission) in cooperation with the GABC - General Administration for Border and Crossings. From 15 October to 11 December, an expert team consisting of two Polish and two Hungarian officers improved the management procedures of the Command and Control Centre and conducted a series of training sessions for 40 Palestinian operators of the Al-Karameh border crossing.
Strengthening the competencies of Palestinian state services is a priority for Poland in Palestine. A state is not only people but also institutions and procedures. The efficiency of the entire state depends on the quality of these institutions and procedures. We are pleased to have been able to support Palestinian statehood with Polish expertise and experience in border management. Poland guards the eastern border of the European Union and thus boasts some of the most experienced cadres of Border Guard and Customs Service officers in Europe.
The Command and Control Centre project at the Al-Karameh border crossing is one of the priority projects of the EUBAM Rafah mission.
