The possibility of building academic partnerships between Qatar's largest public university, Qatar University (QU), and Polish universities was discussed during a meeting between Tomasz Sadziński, head of the Polish diplomatic mission in Doha, and Dr. Omar Al Ansari, president of QU. The meeting, which took place on January 13, was also an opportunity to present the Qatari side's priorities in the field of international contacts, as well as review the current cooperation with the Embassy and Polish universities.

The host of the meeting, Dr. Al Ansari, emphasized the QU's readiness to intensify cooperation with Polish partners, initially pointing to Arabic language teaching, medical science and research, IT and cybersecurity, as well as international relations as potential areas of common interest. He indicated that the university is interested in continuing the talks with the Jagiellonian University commenced on the initiative of the Polish Embassy in Doha in October 2024.

The head of the embassy, Tomasz Sadziński, confirmed that the promotion of Polish-Qatari academic cooperation is the priority of the institution's activity. He recalled that during the visit of HH Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Poland in July 2024, a bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education and Scientific Research was signed, which is a clear signal of the interest of the authorities of both countries in building a comprehensive partnership in this area.

Qatar University was established in 1977. Currently, it offers education, among others: in the field of economics, law, fine arts, engineering, medicine, pharmacy and philology. The number of students is over 23,000. The university also operates the Gulf Studies Center.
