Poland in Qatar

On 28th January 2025 H.E. Tomasz Sadziński, head of the Polish diplomatic mission in Doha, met with the CEO of Barzan Holdings Group, Abdullah Al-Khater (AKH). The purpose of the meeting was to assess the prospects for Polish-Qatari cooperation in the defence sector. In his introduction, he stressed the priority of security, including defence, for the Polish presidency of the EU Council in the first half of this year. He expressed his gratitude for the host's commitment to the development of Polish-Qatari cooperation. He recalled that in 2024. the then Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, General Salem bin Hamad Al Nabet, visited Poland three times. The International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce was also visited by a large delegation of Qatari armed forces. On 4rd September last year, on the sidelines of the event, a meeting took place between General Nabet and Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence. 

Abdulla Al Khater confirmed his will to continue cooperation with Polish partners. He positively assessed the visits to Poland, in particular the presence at the Kielce Trade Fair. He recalled that the Group's main tasks include investing in modern defence technologies, acquisitions of foreign companies, as well as identifying and developing recommendations for the purchase of armaments that meet the needs of the Qatari armed forces.
