On January 13th ambassador Janusz Janke met with the prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, the General Manager of the The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara. The aim of the meeting was to review joint projects implemented so far and to discuss further development of Polish-Qatari relations in the field of culture.
The talks included also the issue of the involvement of Polish institutions in the public diplomacy activities undertaken to promote the culture and heritage within the Global Public Diplomacy Network led by Katara since 2019. Besides, during the meeting, the ambassador handed over to prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulati an engraving from the manuscript Concerning the Horses of the Orient and Those Originating from Oriental Breed by Count Seweryn Wacław Rzewuski, who has visited the Arabian Peninsula over 200 years ago. The publication of the scientific edition of the manuscript, which contains more than 400 full-color drawings, recording the culture and customs of Bedouins at the beginning of 19th century, including precise descriptions of the Arab horse, was a joint project implemented by the Polish National Library and the Qatar Museums Authority in 2012-2018.
