Meeting with the Minister of Transport and Communications

On March 8th H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke was once again received by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current cooperation in the field of aviation and communication technologies, as well as to analyze the prospects for its development in the context of the Internet Governance Forum planned in Poland in December 2021 and the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.
In view of the organization of the digital summit 2021 in Katowice, the ambassador provided updated information on the event. He emphasized the importance of the project and drew attention to the opportunities in the field of digitization, while ensuring cybersecurity. Minister Al Sulaiti expressed his interest in the event and assured that the State of Qatar would support similar initiatives.
During the talks, the issue of Polish-Qatari cooperation in the aviation and communication technology sectors was raised. The Ambassador thanked the host for the active participation of the Qatari Civil Aviation Authority in the "Polish-Qatari virtual roundtable" in November 2020. He updated the minister on the exchange of information between the Qatari institution and the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency concerning i.a. experiences in the field of airspace management. He also mentioned the interest of Qatar Airways in new technological solutions. Minister Al Sulaiti expressed his satisfaction with the progress of Polish-Qatari cooperation and stressed the readiness to provide appropriate support for the continuation of these efforts.
