Meeting with the President of the Civil Aviation Authority

On May 26th H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke met with the President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Nasser Turki Al Subaey. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the aspects of current Polish-Qatari cooperation in the field of civil aviation and the prospects for its further development.

President Al Subaey expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the fruitful cooperation and Poland’s support for the Qatar’s international aspirations, including its candidacy in the elections to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Besides, he presented the current status of the letter of intent on mutual cooperation between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. The President emphasized that signing of the document will allow for an expansion of scope of cooperation in the field of civil aviation in the future.

Ambassador Janusz Janke drew attention to the state-of-the-art technological solutions developed and already implemented in Poland, which ensure safety in national airspace. The interlocutors admitted that in the face of today's threats, which include unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles, safety is a priority. Therefore, the cooperation of both countries in this area and the ongoing exchange of experience is of much importance.
