Meeting with the President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority

On December 15th Ambassador Janusz Janke met with the representatives of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the President of QCAA, Mr. Abdulla Nasser Turki Al Subaey and the Acting Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Mr. Nasser Al Suwaidi. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the QCAA and the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.

President Al Subaey emphasized that due to the comprehensive preparations for 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar would appreciate support from Poland, which not only does have experience in organizing similar sports events, but also has implemented modern solutions in the field of airspace management based on the latest IT technologies.

In relation to the redesign of the national airspace, the President sees the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency as an important partner for cooperation.  The Ambassador affirmed that the Embassy will support the implementation of joint projects in this area and highlighted that cooperation in the field of civil aviation is one of the most important and prospective areas of Polish-Qatari bilateral relations. The meeting was concluded with the presentation of the Polish draft agreement on cooperation, which, as President Al Subaey himself admitted, is the foundation for establishing partnership between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.
