Poland-Qatar Economic Roundtable with participation of H.E. the President of the Republic of Poland

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha organized, in cooperation with the Qatar Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), the Polish-Qatar Economic Roundtable, which was inaugurated on December 5, by H.E. the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda, on an official visit to Qatar, in the presence of minister of commerce and industry of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani.

Among the speakers at the meeting were: Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani, Executive Director of Investment Promotion Agency Qatar, Mr. Rashid Hamad Al Athba, Vice President of Qatar Chamber, Mr. Artur Cieślik, Vice President of PGNiG SA, Mrs. Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, President of BGK SA, and Mr. Janusz Janiszewski, acting President of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. During his speech, the President of PANSA presented information about the letter of intent signed with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority on that day and about the development plans for cooperation with this partner.

The event was attended by over 160 participants, including over 50 representatives of Qatar companies, incl. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways Group. After the end of the plenary session, 34 B2B meetings were held with 14 entrepreneurs from Poland.

During the roundtable, a number of memorandums of cooperation were signed: in the field of supply of products and solutions for the power sector in Qatar, between ZPUE S.A. a Nice Technical Services Group; in the field of supply to Qatar of technological solutions for blood banks between Edraq Healthcare Solutions and AIDA Diagnostics, and in the field of fairs and exhibition cooperation between Qatar National Convention Center, Targi Kielce and QPBC.

The Polish-Qatar Economic Roundtable was an opportunity to promote the report entitled Invest in Poland. A place for Qatari investments in the EU developed by the consulting company KPMG, in cooperation with QPBC.
