Polish-Qatari cooperation in the food processing sector

On January 25th ambassador Janusz Janke and representatives of the Qatar-Poland Business Council visited the headquarters of the Qatar Meat Production Co. The program of the visit included a meeting with Mr. Fahad Al Khalaf, the CEO of the company.

Qatar Meat Production

The talks focused on the cooperation between Poland and Qatar in the agri-food sector and the role of the embassy and the council in identifying potential suppliers in Poland. During the stay, the hosts presented the meat processing facilities, discussed the situation in the agri-food sector in Qatar as well as the business priorities of the company and the holding which it is a part of. The meeting will result in establishing working cooperation between the company and the embassy and Qatar-Poland Business Council, which should translate into the further development of the Polish-Qatari trade relationship and, potentially, the transfer of Polish know-how into this sector. In 2019, Poland’s export of agricultural products to Qatar stood at 18.2 million USD.
