Polish-Qatari security cooperation

On 2 June H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, met general major Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohamed Al Thani, the commander of internal security forces Lekhwiya. The discussions concerned the cooperation between the two countries in the field of security, prospects for its development as well as the preparations of the World Football Championships FIFA 2022 in Qatar.
At the start the Ambassador expressed gratitude to sheikh Abdulaziz Al Thani for his support in achieving the objectives of his diplomatic mission in the State of Qatar. He drew attention to the longstanding strategic partnership between Poland and Qatar in energy security and the reciprocial interest of both sides to deepen their security cooperation, including in the form of exchange of experience and training. The ambassador confirmed the readiness of the Polish side to share its know-how in the area of securing large visibility events.
Gen. major Abdulaziz Al Thani on his part expressed interest in developing the bilateral partnership between the institutions of both countries. He recalled the existing success stories in bilateral relations, such as the maritime studies conducted by cadets of the Qatari Coast Guard at the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia. He declared his support for establishing training links with partners in Poland in the future. Also, he suggested investigating possibilities of cooperation in other aresas, such as health and sports.
