Resolution of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland against the manipulation and falsifying of history by high ranking Russian politicians.

In response to the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to blame Poland for the outbreak of World War II, on January 9 this year, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted by acclamation a resolution against falsifying of history by Russian politicians.

The deputies opposed to the spinning the truth and the manipulation of facts by some Russian politicians in order to discredit Poland and deteriorate Polish- Russian relations. The resolution reminds that the outbreak of World War II was caused by the two totalitarian powers of the time: Nazi Germany leand the Stalinist Soviet Union, and that its first victims - after signed of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact in Moscow on August 23 1939 - were Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries states.

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland appealed for reflection on the principles of building international relations based on mutual respect and partnership.
