Poland in Qatar

The ambassador stressed the importance of Qatar's LNG supplies to Poland in its efforts to ensure energy security and expressed his gratitude for the reliability and timeliness of Qatar Energy's fulfilment of its contractual obligations. He also pointed out that for years Poland has been implementing a strategy of independence from supplies of energy resources from Russia, in which Qatar plays an important role. The policy’s rightness was confirmed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Minister Saad Al Kaabi emphasized his satisfaction with many years of cooperation with Polish economic entities. He agreed with the statement that the launch of supplies from Qatar was a far-sighted move on the part of Poland. Some European countries have not taken such preventive steps. He expressed his readiness to welcome a delegation of PGNiG S.A. on the occasion of their next visit to Doha. Finally, Ambassador Janke congratulated the company on the implementation of ambitious plans to increase production from the current 77 million tonnes per year to 126 million tonnes per year in 2027.
