Poland in Qatar

On 29^th November 2024, Mr Aleksander Parzych, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Doha, paid a visit to the Witold Pilecki Polish School in Qatar.

During the visit, the Consul met with students and teachers and learned about the current activities of the educational centre. The meeting coincided with this year's St Andrew's Day celebrations and the performance of "Śleboda" highlanders band. With the support of the Embassy, ​​ "Śleboda" band presented traditional musical pieces of the Podhale highlanders. Thanks to the Polish musicians, students learned about the variety of highlander music instruments and colourful folk costumes. During St Andrew's Day party  the children had an opportunity to recall the best Polish customs related to the day.

We would like to thank the Polish School for inviting us and for cultivating Polish traditions. We would also like to thank Kapela Śleboda for introducing the youngest to the extraordinary music coming from the Polish mountains.
