Visit to the Qatar Science & Technology Park

On March 1st H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke and the chairman of the Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), Mr. Daniel Dybala, visited the Qatar Science & Technology Park and met with the Executive Director, Mr. Yousouf A. Al-Salehi and Investment Director, dr. Danny Ramadan. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about the scope of activities of the Qatari institution and to discuss the possibilities of establishing cooperation with Polish start-ups operating in the area of new technologies and innovative solutions.
During the talks key areas of interest and priorities of the Qatar Science & Technology Park were presented. Mr. Al Salehi emphasized that QSTP had a variety of cooperative programs, which aim to translate research into the creation of a final product marketable in Qatar. Ambassador Janusz Janke noted that the lack of Polish companies registered in Qatar is a result of relatively high costs and difficulties in understanding the local legal procedures. He highlighted the role of the embassy and the business council in establishing relations with Qatari institutions, as well as recognizing the needs of the Qatari market and identifying opportunities for Polish companies in Qatar. Dr. Danny Ramadan admitted that Poland had a great innovative potential, in particular in sector such as IT, health care and environmental protection. He assured QTSP's readiness to cooperate and expressed interest in participation in events organized by the Embassy and the QPBC in 2021.
The Qatar Science & Technology Park is part of the Qatar Foundation, which plays a key role in developing the technology, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the State of Qatar. QTSP provides a free zone and a business park to the leading global technology companies that support a network of startups and rising technology ventures, as well as offers various acceleration, incubation and funding programs.
