World Urban Forum in Katowice

The 11th session of the World Urban Forum, WUF 11, the largest and most important event in the world devoted to the development of cities, will take place on June 26-30, 2022 in Katowice, Poland.

We would like to inform you that the World Urban Forum will take place on June 26-30, 2022 in Katowice. For five days, the capital of Silesia will become the capital of all the cities in the world. Participants from all over the world, local governments representatives, scientists, business people, local communities leaders, and last but not least, the city residents, will rearch for solutions that can be used to improve functioning of urban conglomerations.

The World Urban Forum was established on the initiative of the United Nations (UN). The first Forum was held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2002, and has since been held every 2 years, around the world. The hosts of the following sessions included: Barcelona, ​​Vancouver, Nanjing, Rio de Janeiro, Naples, Medellin, Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi. In 2022, the WUF, for the first time in over 20 years of history, will be held in Poland, in Central Eastern Europe.

The organizers of this year's 11th session of the event are UN-Habitat (United Nations Program for Human Settlements - UN agency), the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy and the City of Katowice.
