Celebrations of 3 May Constitution Day in Singapore

A classical music concert featuring Polish composers was organised by The Embassy of Poland in Singapore to commemorate the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May

A trio of well-recognised Singaporean artists Churen Li (piano), Leslie Tan (cello), Shunxiang Yang (violin) performed an exquisite programme which included compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Henryk Wieniawski and Andrzej Panufnik. The concert took place on May 4th in Singapore Center for Chinese Culture.

The official part of the celebrations included  speeches by Ambassador of Poland to Singapore Magdalena Bogdziewicz and Guest of Honor Mr Alvin Tan, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and in the Ministry of Culture, Local Community and Youth.

Ambassador Bogdziewicz emphasized significance of the anniversary saying: „May 3rd Constitution Day has been chosen for a reason to be Poland’s national day. It is the most joyful of our commemorations; a symbol of Poland’s independence, reflecting our firm anchoring in the community of democratic nations and the commitment to peaceful and prosperous development of Europe”. She highlighted also the recent successes of bilateral cooperation, which grew significantly in the time of crisis,  Poland’s strong economic standing and prospect to further develop ties between Poland in Singapore, also in the area of technology.

Mr Alvin Tan noted that Poland is a "friend and trusted partner" for Singapore as well as an investment and business destination which is increasingly appreciated by Singaporean companies.

Also on the ocassion of the Poland’s Constitution Day, The Business Times published a special supplement "Poland in The Spotlight". The publication featured a selection of articles presenting Poland’s as a responsible partner in Europe, attractive investment destination as well as a strong economy with a focus on modern technologies.
