Krzysztof Penderecki, one of the most prominent figures in the history of 20th-century music, passed away on 29 March 2020 at the age of 86.

A famous composer, director and musical educator, Penderecki was internationally acclaimed for such famous works as Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima, Passion According to St. Luke, Utrenja, Polish Requiem or Devils of Loudun, and received numerous accolades in Poland and world-wide. As a conductor, Penderecki worked with the most celebrated orchestras from all over the globe.

On 8th May 2020 he was planned to conduct the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in his own compositions. Sadly, it will not be the case.
