“In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemics which brought about a reversal of globalization trends and disruption of trade, the joint statement will lay the ground for Polish and Singaporean businesses to turn the crisis into opportunities, as they can reach new markets and explore successful partnerships” - said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Jadwiga Emilewicz.

“Our bilateral trade in essential goods is now getting a momentum. We greatly appreciate the recent approval of Polish veterinary products by Singapore Food Agency, and are glad that the results of cooperation of governmental agencies have been already translated by our businesses into new contracts. First shipment of essential supplies from Poland is expected to reach Singapore as soon as next week. We look to enhance our connectivity, both physical and digital, as key to maintain and further develop close economic cooperation. Modern technologies, digitalization and innovation are areas where our countries can collaborate closer. While Singapore is known to be the regional innovation leader, Poland possesses sound R&D capabilities, high growth potential in digital industries and a large start-up community. It also looks to be one of the European country least affected by the oncoming recession”. – she added.
