Opportunities of strengthening bilateral cooperation with Singapore in the field of deliveries of Polish poultry to the local and regional markets in support of Singapore’s food resilience were discussed on 28 September by Polish and Singaporean industries during video-conference "Poland - New Poultry Partner supporting Singapore's food security". The meeting was organized by the Meat Trade Association (MTA) of Singapore and the National Poultry Council of Poland (KRD-IG), in cooperation with the Embassy of Poland in Singapore and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Singapore.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Magdalena Bogdziewicz, the guest of honor of the meeting, emphasized the role of Poland - the largest poultry producer in Europe - as an efficient and reliable international partner, which even in the most challenging period of global supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19 pandemics, was able to support Singapore in the process of stocking up daily need products, including poultry. Representatives of industry organizations Mr. Alvin Kwek, President of the Meat Traders Association of Singapore and Mr. Dariusz Goszczyński, Director General of the National Poultry Council of Poland, provided participants with the Singapore market insights and the Polish poultry industry characteristics.

The virtual meeting was attended by over 50 industry representatives from both countries, including the majority of Polish companies accredited by the Singapore Food Agency for export to the Singaporean market. Polish exporters had the opportunity to present their offer to Singaporean importers and hold their first business meetings. The analysis of key factors that should be taken into account in planning the Singaporean market entry strategy by Polish companies, presented by an experienced Singaporean specialist, was an additional value of the event.

During the webinar, a cooperation agreement was signed between MTA and KRD-IG. Based on the document partners committed themselves to exchange information on business opportunities, sharing market insights, exchange experts, as well as implement joint projects aimed at strengthening commercial cooperation between Polish and Singaporean entities.

Currently, 15 Polish poultry establishments are authorized to export to Singapore. Seven of them have halal certificates recognized directly by the Singapore certification body (MUIS).
