Poland's presence at the most important technology and financial conferences SWITCHxSFF 2021

SWITCH SINGAPORE WEEK OF INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

It was the 5th time that Poland took part in the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) and Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF), a series of conferences and events dedicated to the collaboration of the financial and new technologies sectors from the Global-Asia innovation ecosystem.

Our country presented itself as a valuable partner and an entrepreneurship-friendly center for modern technologies development in the European Union and ​​creative solutions for the banking, finance, and insurance sectors.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Magdalena Bogdziewicz opening the session “Poland - CEE’s Tech Powerhouse” organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, highlighted the major advantages of Poland as an expanding technology hub in Europe. She granted special attention to the excellent level of Polish IT education which translates into the international success of Polish graduates, an increase in research and development budget expenditure, a strong focus on technological solutions commercialization, and the dynamics of development of Polish micro-enterprises and startups.

Ambassador Bogdziewicz also took part in the inaugural session of the DeepTech Summit, conducted by the SG Innovate agency.

Poland was the most represented EU country at the event, accompanying the SWITCH conference and aiming to connect European and Singapore clusters. The session first of this kind, run under the umbrella of the cooperation agreement signed between the European Union and Singapore in 2020 was attended by 11 Polish entities, which offer solutions in the areas of med-tech, aviation, marine, and composite technologies.

In addition, 6 Polish companies: Sunroof, FibriTech, Vue Storefront, Versabox, Airly, and StethoMe presented their technologies in the virtual PAIH pavilion.

At the Singapore Fintech Festival, which took place at the same time, Poland marked its presence through the participation of the Polish company Skyblu.ai at the final of Global FinTech Hackcelerator, a competition for a breakthrough technological solution organized by the Singaporean central bank to improve the response to contemporary sustainable development challenges in the financial sector.

The organizer of the European edition of the competition was, for the second time, in a row international Partner of Global FinTech Hackcelerator: PAIH & Accepoint

For the second year in a row, the two largest technology events in Singapore, which are also the largest events in the Southeast Asia region attracting key players in the innovation and technology industry, were organized in a hybrid formula, with the participation of tens of thousands of participants from around the world.
