From November 13 to 17, the Polish business delegation, led by Deputy CEO of PKO BP, Mr. Andrzej Kopyrski, visited Singapore.
The delegation also included representatives from seven start-ups offering solutions in KYC, anti-money laundering, monetization of online content, data analytics, security, and process automation. The Polish delegation was accompanied by experts from PAIH in Warsaw (led by board member Mr. Piotr Dytko) and representatives from their regional offices in Japan, Thailand, and Mongolia. The mission was organized by PKO BP, PAiH, and the FinTech Poland - an independent and not-profit think tank specializing in digital finance.
The main focus of the Polish delegation's stay in Singapore was participation in the Singapore Fintech Festival, during which Polish companies showcased their offerings within the national pavilion. The Singapore Fintech Festival is a global financial industry event that attracted over 60,000 visitors from more than 130 countries. Among the participants were representatives from over 40 central banks and numerous financial supervisory agencies.
The activity of the Polish delegation began on November 13 with participation in a networking event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland at the Kempinski Hotel. In addition to members of the Polish business mission, representatives from leading banks operating in Singapore, investment funds, and entrepreneurs in the fintech industry also attended the meeting. Among the guests were many Poles working in the financial sector in Singapore.
On November 14, the "Poland – ASEAN Fintech Forum" took place at the Singapore Business Federation’s headquarter. During the nearly 6-hour program, presentations were made on the Polish economy, the financial sector, and the "Future Finance Poland" initiative aimed at promoting Poland as a financial center. Panel discussions revolved around topics such as AI, cybersecurity, ESG, and synergy between Poland and ASEAN countries. During the event, an MoU was signed between the FinTech Poland and the Global FinTech Institute based in Singapore.
On November 15, the official opening of the SFF took place, and later that day, the solemn inauguration of the Polish pavilion, which was courteously visited by Mairead McGuinness – EU Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services, and Capital Markets Union.
