Promotion of Polish amber jewellery sector

An exclusive press and networking event aimed at introducing and promoting Polish amber jewellery among the local audience and the fashion business was inaugurated by Ambassador Magdalena Bogdziewicz on 26 September 2022, on the eve of Asia's largest jewellery and gemstones fair "Jewellery & Gem World Singapore".

The event “Jewellery from Poland. Amber – the treasure of the Baltic Sea” gathered representatives of Singapore’s lifestyle press and fashion industry, distributors and members of the jeweller’s association and as well as the banking and wealth management sector.

During her opening remarks, Ambassador Magdalena Bogdziewicz emphasized the authenticity and both the esthetic and the investment value of Polish amber that is often combined with silver or gold. Along with the creative, distinctive design it is the high-end quality of jewellery work from Poland, being a result of the craftsmanship tradition passed down from generation to generation that attracts the interest of the most sophisticated customers in the world, also in Asia – she pointed out.

The export of Polish amber and silver jewellery is worth EUR 300 million annually. According to the experience of Polish exporters, buyers in China and South and East Asia, who account for almost 40% of Polish exports, appreciate not only the beauty and the value of Polish jewellery but also amber's healing properties and its links with Buddhism, while displaying a great preference for amber products with intense red color.

The representatives of the International Amber Association and the local Association of Jewellery Producers gave the audience an insight into the current trends in the amber jewellery industry, the growing popularity of certificates of origin and the characteristics of the Singapore market.

Presentations were followed by an enthusiastically received show of Polish amber jewellery presented by models wearing outfits of the local brand AKINN.

The press breakfast was organized by Polish Investment and Trade Agency - Singapore branch office with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and chaired by the well-known journalist Chloe Cho.

The audience met 5 Polish entities presenting their offer at the fair: International Amber Association, companies: Amber Apple, Gem Amber, Gielo, Silvam, as well as the local company Baltica Pte Ltd.

During the event, the guests had the opportunity to purchase amber products, take part in the lucky draw and enjoy Polish culinary products.
