Singapore Maritime and Business Seminar

The Singapore Maritime and Business Mixer  – a business seminar with the participation of Polish business, including such companies as KGHM, LOTOS OIL, LOT Cargo was held in the morning of 29 October at Grand Hyatt Singapore.

The event was opened by Mr Marek Gróbarczyk, Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of the Republic of Poland and by Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Transport of Singapore. The seminar enjoyed the patronage of the Ambassador of Poland to Singapore Mrs Magdalena Bogdziewicz who welcomed the guests alongside Mr Łukasz Greinke – President of the Management Board of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

The business seminar was organised with the support of the Embassy of Poland to Singapore, Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of the Republic of Poland and Polish Investment and Trade Agency. It  attracted more than 150 participants and served as a great opportunity to promote Poland as an attractive business partner and to forge contacts between Polish and Singaporean business representatives and investors. The participating industries included maritime, offshore, energy, raw materials, information technology, Internet of Things and new technologies.

During the seminar, the presenters tackled themes such as logistic ties between Poland and Singapore as a part of linking European and Asian hubs; future of the maritime industry and the impact of disruptive technologies and other solutions thereon; as well as investment opportunities in Poland as a gateway to Central and Eastern European markets.
