The Embassy of Poland is the winner of the 21st edition of the Ambassadors’ Cup diplomatic regatta.

Sailing a superb race on "Born in Fire" sailing boat, Polish team took the 1st place both across the line on the East Johor Strait and on handicap correction. The Mexican Embassy came in second and the Pakistani Embassy was third. The award in the non-ambassadorial category was won by the Embassy of the Philippines on November 5, 2022.
Receiving the Cup from the Guest of Honor Mr. Albert Chua, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Polish Ambassador Magdalena Bogdziewicz stressed the importance and the symbolic significance of the race being won for the first time by a female ambassador in more than 20-years history of the competition. Also, first time, both trophies were won by the same team during the event with the highest attendance and over 40 diplomatic missions taking part in the race.
“Determination and focus on reaching the goal, strengthened by our historical experiences, are features close to Poland and Polish hearts. Occasional competition on the water in a friendly atmosphere is an activity that complements well our constant dedication to international cooperation that remains the source of progress and the best response to global challenges "- said the winner of the regatta on behalf of the 'Polska-Born in Fire' crew.
The ‘Born in Fire’ sailing boat with an international crew from Europe and Singapore defended the title won during the last edition of the regatta in 2019 for the Japanese Embassy. The second victory in a row also happened for the first time in the competition's history.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore has been for years participating in the Ambassadors’ Cup under the White and Red Polish flag. It is an important social occasion for diplomats in Singapore that offers opportunities for informal discussions with members and friends of the sailing club, as well as business circles supporting the event.
The staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland won the second place on the podium three times in the past (in the 10th, 11th and 19th editions).
At the invitation of the President of Regatta 2022 Ambassador of Peru, acting in cooperation with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Poland’s Ambassador served on an informal committee supporting the promotion of the event among diplomatic missions from every continent.
