The detained persons organized the ICT infrastructure, which consisted of modems and devices cooperating with a wholesale number of SIM cards, ensuring anonymization of telephone connections and activities performed on the Internet and hiding the data of persons using it. This infrastructure was used, among others, by foreign intelligence services for disinformation activities carried out in Poland.

Internal Security Agency officers conducted searches in over 20 locations throughout the country, incl. at the places of residence of the detained and persons who were cooperating with them, as well as at the premises of business entities. Extensive evidence has been secured in the form of, among others, simbox devices, SIM cards, data carriers, including computers, telephones, portable memory, hard drives.

The detained managed the system and supervised its proper functioning. They cooperated with people who provided technical and logistic support, including in the purchase, sale and registration of wholesale amounts of SIM cards for fake personal data.

The detained were charged of disrupting the operation of the ICT network. Preventive measures were also applied in the form of bail, police supervision and a ban on contacting persons under investigation.
