A dangerous extremist detained

The Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), in cooperation with the Border Guard, identified and neutralized the extremist threat to Western European countries. A Dutch national, linked to extreme nationalist groups, who wanted to illegaly acquire firearms in Poland, has been detained.

The Military Counterintelligence Service identified a 54-year-old Dutch national who was seeking contacts in Polish pro-Russian extremist circles. The purpose of the identified person was to illegally obtain firearms.

Joint actions of the Military Counterintelligence and the Border Guard resulted in detaining the suspect on 13 June 2023. The man was caught red-handed trying to buy 5 pieces of Glock and CZ firearms together with ammunition, for an amount of EUR 4,000. Additionally, EUR 7,300 has been secured, found in the Dutchman’s car, as well as electronic devices and other items that may represent evidence in this case. The suspect planned to take illegally obtained arms out of Poland and use them on the territory of the Netherlands.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged the detainee with trade with firearms and ammunition, which is punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment. Upon the court’s decision, the man was put in custody for 3 months.

Further operations are carried out by the Wielkopolska Regional Department of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Public Prosecutor's Office in Poznań.
