Another collaborator of foreign services identified

The Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) has identified another suspect for espionage activities on behalf of Russia. The man was detained, and at the prosecutor's office he was charged with the offence of spying for Russian intelligence. According to the Court's decision, he was arrested for 3 months.
The foreign national detained on 21 March 2023 is suspected of carrying out reconnaissance activities on behalf of Russian special services. The evidence indicates that he was collecting information, among other things, about critical infrastructure in the Pomeranian and Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeships and the activities of services and authorities responsible for security. The information obtained was passed on by the individual to the Russian services.
During the prosecution activities, the suspect confessed to the crime committed, described the details of his actions as well as the circumstances of recruitment by the Russian intelligence. The man was performing tasks ordered by the Russian service at least since January 2023.
The suspect is another person identified in the last month by SKW as a collaborator of foreign services. On 1 March, another foreigner working for the Belarusian secret services was detained on the basis of information from military counterintelligence.
He has heard the charges of spying for the benefit of the Belarussian intelligence. Gathered materials indicate that the suspect conducted reconnaissance of objects important for the security of the Republic of Poland, including those related to the Polish Armed Forces.
The District Court in Lublin applied a preventive measure against the man in the form of temporary arrest for a period of three months.
