Russian propagandist banned from entering Poland

09.01.2023

At the request of the Head of the Internal Security Agency, a Russian citizen, Victor Bezeka, was entered on the list of foreigners undesirable on the territory of the Republic of Poland, whose journalistic activity is part of the Kremlin's information war against Poland and the EU.

For years, Victor Bezeka has been involved in spreading Russian propaganda aimed at the interests of the Republic of Poland, the Polish raison d'état and the image of Poland on the international arena. He is professionally associated with Russia Today television and the Polish-language editorial office of the Sputnik news agency. The above-mentioned "media" are typically disinformation structures, constituting the Kremlin's base, supporting its foreign policy and disseminating a false image of reality among citizens of other countries.

This is not the first time that the Polish authorities have used the instrument of banning entry to the country for a Russian "journalist". In March 2021, at the request of the Internal Security Agency, the ban on entering Poland and the countries of the Schengen area, Leonid Sviridov, who is involved in spreading Kremlin propaganda, was extended until 2025. In the same year, a similar decision was issued in relation to Yevgeny Reshentiev, a Russian TV reporter who conducted activities harmful to the Republic of Poland, going beyond the journalist's work. Reshetnev's activity was in line with the tasks of the structures conducting information warfare in Russia.

In September 2022, Poland, in agreement with the Baltic states, tightened the entry regulations for Russian citizens. The adopted solutions serve to limit non-essential travel by citizens of the Russian Federation to Poland.

Russian "journalists" working in Poland are a group used for aggressive information activities conducted by the Kremlin against Poland, NATO countries and the West. Poland invariably remains one of the main targets of these activities.
