The Russian aggression continues
01.06.2022
The current military situation in Ukraine is very difficult for the Ukrainian military, but the defenders are far from losing control of events on the battlefield. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are responding to the actions of the aggressor, currently focusing on Donbass. The Ukrainians are managing to inflict very heavy losses on the invaders in this region.
At the moment, the Ukrainian side is also conducting, in an orderly manner, a regrouping of forces to take better, or new, defensive positions around Liman, Severodonetsk and Popasna.
The Russian invasion continues. However, the Russians do not have serious successes on any section of the front, advancing at a very slow pace. Ukrainian forces are holding back the attack effectively and in some places - such as around Kharkiv and Kherson - they are also moving into a counter-offensive.
The Kremlin constantly uses war crimes and terror to sow fear in attacked and already occupied territories. At the same time, it establishes occupying authorities in the conquered territories, convincing them that they have the legitimacy to govern the territory. Also evident is the tactic of terrorizing those regions from which Russian troops have been pushed out by Ukrainian defenders. The Kremlin is conducting heavy shelling on targets in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, among others.
Russia also conducts constant actions to intimidate not only the Ukrainian population but also the societies of the West, in particular those countries that engage for the benefit of Ukraine. The Kremlin, using military action and propaganda, suggests that support for Ukraine may be met with a Russian response. Moscow is putting pressure on the West in an attempt to bring about a situation in which Ukraine remains alone in its fight against Russia.
