Visit of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to Poland on May 7-17, 2024.

The visit of the Emirati business delegation, the main point of which was participation in the European Economic Congress in Katowice, was the next stage in the expansion of Polish-Emirate economic contacts. We hope that these will result in further investments and business projects involving companies from both countries.

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) was one of the four main partners of this year's European Economic Congress in Katowice, which took place on May 7-9. It had its own pavilion at the Congress, where the most important institutions of ADDED were exhibited: Khalifa Fund, Hub 71, as well as very important investment and business institutions of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, such as the Mubadala fund, the Ministry of Investment and SILAL (food security agency).

During the EEC, the head of the Emirati delegation officially met with the Deputy Minister of Development and Technology, Ignacy Niemczycki, Marshal of the Voivodeship of Silesia and the mayor of Katowice as well as political delegations from Ukraine, Bavaria, Canada and Brazil.

The most important points of the delegation's participation at the EEC in Katowice were:

- 2nd Poland-Abu Dhabi Business Forum;

- Investment Forum organized by the Upper Silesian Fund;

- Panel on cooperation with the Emirates with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna;

- official meeting of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) with Khalifa Fund and HUB71.

During the EEC, an agreement was signed between the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI) and the Upper Silesian Fund to establish an ADCCI office in Katowice at the Fund's headquarters.

After the Congress, the Emirati delegation travelled to Krakow, and then to Lublin and Warsaw. In Krakow on May 10, the local authorities presented the investment offer of the Małopolska Region. During the visit to Lublin on May 12-13, a letter of intent on cooperation between Lublin and Abu Dhabi and an MoU between ADCCI and the Lublin Chamber of Commerce and Industry were signed.

On May 14, the first meeting of the Polish-Emirate Business Council was organized at the headquarters of the Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG) in Warsaw with the participation of the following companies:

On the Polish side - ARP, BGK, Fakro (producer of roof windows), Future Finance Poland, Upper Silesian Fund, Polsat Cyfrowy S.A., Hynfra (green hydrogen production), National Food Group S.A., National Poultry Council, Polish Chamber of Unmanned Systems, Maritime Authority of the Port Gdynia S.A., Olsztyn-Mazury Airport, Sunreef Yachts, WP2 (VC fund investing in green technologies).

On the Emirati side - representatives of chambers of commerce from the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, as well as AgroTech companies, Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park and Emirates Industrial Laboratory.
