Permit for temporary residence – child born in Poland

I live in Poland based on a permit for temporary residence and I have given birth to a child here. Is the child automatically covered by my or my husband’s permit?

No. This is not allowed.

An underage child of a foreign national who stays in Poland based on a Polish visa or a permit for temporary residence may be given such permit, provided that the child was born during the period of validity of the parent’s visa or permit (the one which is the current basis of residence and not any other one) and provided that the foreign national has a medical insurance, a secure source of regular income sufficient for subsistence (also for the foreign national’s dependants) and a placed to live in Poland.

The permit may be granted under art. 160(2) of the Law on Foreign Nationals.
