Permit for temprary residence a cause for a short-term residence

I reside in Poland illegally but I have been banned from leaving the country. What should I do to legalize my residence in Poland?
Under the Law on Foreign Nationals, the ban prevents you from getting a permit for temporary residence, unless you need it for a reason, for a short period. You will not get a permit for permanent residence or a permit for residence of a long-term EU resident either.

The permit for temporary residence for a cause, for a short period, up to 6 months, can be granted under art. 181(1) of the Law. To get it, you do not need to meet any criterion other than proving that you are required to appear in person before a Polish authority. You need to apply in person by filing the applicable form including your photograph, presenting your travel document and giving your fingerprints.
