As part of the asylum procedure, unaccompanied minors have an additional right to receive a temporary Foreigner’s Identity Certificate and the right to receive social assistance.
Spouse
By submitting a joint application for asylum, you are giving your spouse (the applicant) power of attorney to represent you in the asylum procedure. This means that any decision on the matter will be issued to the spouse (applicant) and will also be addressed to him/her. This also means that the Head of the Office of Foreigners is not obliged to interview you for the purpose of these proceedings. However, you have the right to request the Head of the Office for Foreigners to interview you separately. As the applicant’s spouse, you also have the right to submit a separate asylum application (e.g., if you have other reasons for applying for asylum). In such event, your cases shall be handled separately.
Submitting a joint application requires your written consent to do so.
