Christmas at the Polish Embassy in London
24.12.2023
On 6 December, the Polish Embassy welcomed over 100 guests, partners, and close friends during a special Christmas reception. The event was an excellent opportunity to reminisce about the events and developments of the past year and look forward to the new openings of 2024.
At the beginning of December, the Polish Embassy hosted its annual Christmas reception. The guests included members of the diplomatic corps, UK Foreign Office employees, British professionals, and friends and family of the Embassy staff. The Ambassador, Professor Piotr Wilczek, opened the event with a welcoming speech. The festive address reflected on the past year in Polish-British relations, particularly referring to strengthening of trade partnerships, increasing security and defence cooperation, and rising joint efforts in culture and education.
The festivities were also an opportunity to mingle and network while discussing the more lighthearted Christmas topics. Indeed, the guests debated the true meaning of the holiday season, the traditions they cultivate in their households, and whether carp was a good fish to eat during this winter period. Ultimately, everyone agreed that nothing was as charming as a true Polish Christmas. The video captures glimpses of the event, conveying some of the genuine holiday spirit that could be sensed in the air that evening.
