Fourth edition of #PolishGemsUK social media campaign

01.08.2022

With the holiday season in full swing, we kick off the fourth edition of the social media campaign to discover hidden Polish treasures around the UK!

Polish Gems UK

To mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of three Polish commanders, Gen Władysław Anders, Gen Stanisław Maczek and Gen Stanisław Sosabowski, this year’s gems will be related to the three generals and their presence in Britain.

Such treasures include a plaque to Gen Anders in Willesden; a mural in Belfast honouring Gen Sosabowski; the General Maczek Walk in Edinburgh; the Polish Forces Remembrance Garden in Hillingdon; and statues of Wojtek the Bear around the UK.

Join us in uncovering unique places and stories linked to three generals by using the hashtag #PolishGemsUK on Facebook and Twitter or drop us an email with a description of the item and images of it at london.press@msz.gov.pl.
