29.11.2023
On 3 December at 15:00, the exhumed remains of General Stanisław Kopański, Second Lieutenant Stefan Eichler, and their spouses, Janina Kopańska and Felicja Eichler, are to be honoured at the St Andrew Bobola Church in London during an open-to-public special farewell service. Polish Ambassador Professor Piotr Wilczek and a governmental delegation led by Minister Jan Dziedziczak will attend the mass.
"Both General Stanisław Kopański and Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Eichler are epitomes of pre-war Polish officers. Devoted to the cause of a free Poland to the very end, after the war they had to accept the loss of the opportunity to return to their beloved homeland. They settled abroad and were actively involved in the life of Polish emigrant communities. Now, they are returning home," said Minister Jan Dziedziczak.
This is a project carried out by The Foundation Aid to Poles in the East in cooperation with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London.
