Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took part in the summit of heads of governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the United Kingdom in London. The topic of the meeting was Russian aggression against Ukraine and its impact on the security of Europe.
"The purpose of my visit to London today, in the afternoon to Oslo, tomorrow to Vienna – this is also a goal that our allies themselves are asking about – namely how they can help us in this great work of accepting refugees, because today we are also saving the lives of women and children. We save from bombs," said the head of the Polish government.
Cooperation of the V4 and the United Kingdom on sanctions against Russia
During his visit to London, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the summit of the heads of governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the United Kingdom. The prime ministers' talks focused on Russia's invasion of Ukraine and its consequences. The leaders discussed the consequences of the armed conflict for the security of European countries, including energy and cybersecurity. They also talked about the ways of supporting Ukraine and helping its citizens.
An important element of the talks was the discussion of sanctions against Russia. After the V4 meeting, the head of the Polish government held a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
