Poland in the UK

The Hydrogen Futures Conference, organised by the Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA) in conjunction with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London and the Polish Investment & Trade Agency, took place on November 14th, 2023. The main event in London gathered leading experts, industry professionals, and potential investors in the field of hydrogen. The conference was attended by a special trade mission of Polish hydrogen companies to the UK together with a representative from the Economic Department of the Polish Embassy in London. Orlen, the central Polish energy company, and Hydrogen Poland, the main Polish organisation representing the interest of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry, were leading companies present at the conference.

As part of the conference, the participants visited ITM Power PLC - a UK-based company focused on designing and manufacturing electrolyser systems that generate green hydrogen. Additionally, they toured and talked at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at the University of Sheffield. 

The event was an excellent opportunity to learn about the state of development of the Polish hydrogen economy and present the prospects for British-Polish cooperation in this area. The conference introduced some of the trailblazers of the Polish hydrogen industry to the British market and presented the state of development of the hydrogen economy.
