Celebrating the birth anniversaries of John Paul II and Fryderyk Chopin
17.01.2020
A special piano recital performed by Brian Ganz was held in the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland.
Two notable anniversaries were celebrated in Ambassador Piotr Wilczek’s official Residence: the centennial of Pope John Paul II’s birth and the 210th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s birth. The evening’s guests were treated to a piano recital featuring the works of Chopin and performed by virtuoso Brian Ganz. The event was sponsored by the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union, which presented its newly-published calendar containing photos of John Paul II taken by his personal photographer, Arturo Mari. Guests included the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Christophe Pierre; ambassadors accredited to the US; and representatives of the US administration, think thanks, and Catholic communities.
