Changes to Poland's Honorary Consulates in California

Mr. Thaddeus Norman Taube has been appointed the new Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in San Francisco, Ms. Susan Eileen Penn is now the Honorary Vice-Consul of Poland in said city, and Ms. Barbara Haider has been appointed the Honorary Consul of Poland in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.

Honorary Consulate in San Francisco

Mr. Thaddeus Norman Taube, who had previously served as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Belmont, CA since 2007 until the closure of the Consulate in September 2020, has been appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland to the position of Honorary Consul of Poland in San Francisco. He will be supported in exercising consular functions by Ms. Susan Eileen "Shana" Penn, who has been appointed Honorary Vice Consul of Poland in San Francisco.

Due to Honorary Consul Taube’s reassignment to San Francisco, he has concluded his service as Honorary Consul of Poland in Belmont, CA, and the Consulate in that city has been closed.

 

Honorary Consulate in Rancho Santa Fe

A new Polish consulate headed by an honorary consul has been established in California, located in Rancho Santa Fe in the San Diego metropolitan area; Ms. Barbara Haider has been appointed Honorary Consul of Poland at the new post. The duties of Polish Honorary Consuls include: protection of the rights and interests of the Republic of Poland and its citizens, fostering the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Poland and the U.S., fostering the bond between Poland and Polish Americans, promoting Polish economy, science, culture and language, and providing consular assistance.
