Save the date! The 2023 edition of the European Union Open House will take place on May 13th!

The European Union and the Embassies of its Member States will open their doors to the public for a day of culture, music, and more. No registration, tickets, or passport required!

Visit the Embassy of the Republic of Poland at 2640 16^th St NW, Washington, D.C. 20009 from 10.00 am -4.00 pm!

 

JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD WITH POLISH EXPLORERS AND GUINESS RECORD BREAKERS:

- Piotr Chmieliński will share what it meant for him to be part of the first ever white-water kayak expedition to Colca Canyon in Peru and to kayak the Amazon River from its source to the sea...as the first person in the world to accomplish this feat.

- Marek Kamiński will share his journey to the North and the South Pole without outside assistance...all within in one year...as the first person in the world to have conquered this mighty task.

- Krzysztof Wielicki will share his experiences from climbing all fourteen eight-thousanders along with climbing Mount Everest , Kangchenjunga , and Lhotse during the winter...as the first person in the world to achieve this monumental climbs.


JOURNEY THROUGH THE HISTORY (OF ARTS):

Our colleague Rafał Sordyl will tell you (almost) all the secret stories about our premises – the oldest Embassy seat in Washington, D.C. – and about the history of Poland, through the art collection that we are lucky to have on display inside the Embassy.

 

JOURNEY THROUGH THE POLISH MUSIC:

Martin Labazevitch, award-winning pianist, will play a non-stop concert on the Paderewski grand piano. The program will include the most intriguing themes from the history of the Polish film music, like “Rosemary’s Baby”, “Double Life of Veronique” and “Ida” as well as Fryderyk Chopin’s and Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s classics.
