The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago would like to announce its new video initiative the “Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union” to increase awareness of the European Union and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union outside of Europe.

 

The Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union began on January 1st 2025, and will conclude on June 30th 2025 when Denmark succeeds Poland as President of the Council.

 

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago invites University Students within the Chicago Consular Region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin) interested in the European Union to create a short video clip describing the importance of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. From among the submissions received by the Consulate, chosen videos, in part or in whole, will be used to create a compilation video published on the Consulate’s Social Media, published independently on the Consulate’s Social Media, or both.

 

Content Requirements

  • The video must focus on the importance of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January 1st – June 30th, 2025) and related topics.
  • The video should highlight topics such as Poland’s role in the European Union, its priorities, and key initiatives during its Presidency, Poland’s Role in the Europe Union
  • The video should be informative, engaging, and accessible to a general audience.
  • Submissions should be in either Polish or English

 

Technical Information

  • Videos should be a maximum of 2 minutes in length
  • Videos should have either .mp4 or .mov File Format
  • Videos should have clear audio without background noise interference
  • Video should be titled using the following convention FirstLastName_State.mp4

 

Submission Information:

The deadline for submission is Sunday April 6th 2025 at 11:59pm

For each submission we request the following personal data

First and Last Name

  • Your full name will be used to credit you as the author if your video is selected and to track submissions for administrative purposes.

Email

  • Your email will be used to contact you regarding your submission.

University

  • This information helps verify eligibility for the initiative and provides insight into student participation across different institutions.

State

  • Your state of residence helps confirm eligibility, as this contest is open to students within the Chicago Consular Region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin). It may also be used for demographic insights regarding participation and collaboration with Universities and their students.

Major

  • Your field of study helps us understand participant backgrounds and may be used for demographic insights related to the initiative.

 

Submission Method:

  • All submissions should be emailed to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago at chicago.promotion@msz.gov.pl
  • All submissions should include the Phrase “Polish EU Council Presidency video initiative Submission”
  • All Submissions should include a WeTransfer link to uploaded video
    • All WeTransfer links should be set to expire in 7 days

 

 

Following the submission deadline (April 6th), an exclusive networking event for students is set to take place at the end of April or the beginning of May (date subject to confirmation) at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago for those who took part in this initiative. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded students, and expand your network in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy a day of engaging conversations, cultural exchange, and music, all while gaining valuable insights into Poland’s rich history and modern opportunities.
