Special screening of “Corpus Christi” at the Motion Picture Association’s headquarters in Washington, DC

"Corpus Christi," Director Jan Komasa’s Oscar-nominated film that vied with some of the past year’s best foreign pictures, was screened at the Motion Picture Association’s DC headquarters.
Urszula Horoszko, head of the Cultural Section at the Embassy of Poland, stated in her opening remarks, "The Polish film industry is experiencing a renaissance thanks to young directors such as Jan Komasa," underscoring the newfound success that Polish cinema has enjoyed in the United States in recent years. Gail MacKinnon, Senior EVP for Global Policy & Government Affairs at the MPA, recalled the impact that Polish director Andrzej Wajda had on international cinema. Over 100 guests attended the evening's celebrations, including members of the U.S. administration - the United States Department of State and the White House National Security Council - the Swiss and Portuguese Ambassadors, and representatives of some of the nation's largest media outlets and think tanks – the Hudson Institute, CEPA, CBS, Politico, Fox News, CNN, as well as representatives from legal and business communities.
The MPA is an association that supports the American film industry and its affiliated corporations: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures; Netflix Studios, LLC; Paramount Pictures Corporation; Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.; Universal City Studios LLC, and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. Our Embassy partnered with the MPA to organize the event.
