30.10.2024
In the framework of the International Jazz Festival in Albania on October 24, the Polish jazz band Unleashed Cooperation performed in the concert hall of the Academy of Arts in Tirana. The concert in Albania is part of a series of events organized in the framework of the JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana and the Albanian Jazz Society. The band performed in its original line-up: Krzysztof Kuśmierek - saxophone, Patryk Rynkiewicz - trumpet, Patryk Matwiejczuk - piano, Flavio Gullotta - double bass, Stanisław Aleksandrowicz - drums.
The JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project has taken the form of an international concert tour and is inspired by the achievements of the Polish traveller Paweł Edmund Strzelecki, who was the first Pole to circumnavigate the world on his own initiative in the mid-19th century. As part of the project, Polish artists will perform live on four continents over the course of three years. The project began in May last year and so far more than 150 events were held in 21 countries, with 21 bands taking part. This is the second visit of a Polish jazz band to Albania as part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project. Last year, the band ZIEMIA performed in Tirana and Shkodra. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Radosław Sikorski assumed honorary patronage of the project.
The JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation is a non-governmental organisation presenting a broad spectrum of possibilities for Polish artists of the young generation. It helps to establish international cultural cooperation and integrates the communities of artists from many countries. It strives to refresh and strengthen the image of Polish jazz in the consciousness of foreign audiences. Since 2012, more than 500 events in 25 countries have been held as part of JAZZ PO POLSKU.
The Unleashed Cooperation band is one of the winners of several of the most important Polish jazz festivals, including Jazz Juniors, Jazz nad Odrą and Krokus Jazz Festival. The band has released the album "8 Years" and during its visit to Albania it promoted its latest album "Trust".
The concert hall, in addition to jazz enthusiasts, gathered, among others, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of the diplomatic corps; representatives of opinion-forming circles; Poles working and living in Albania and friends of Poland.
In addition, as part of the festival on October 25, a representative of the Unleashed Cooperation band, together with the festival organizer, gave an interview to the local news channel A2 (exclusive partner of CNN in Albania and Kosovo).
