Jazz Po Polsku - concert of the band Unleashed Cooperation at the 13th edition of the International Jazz Festival in Albania

In the framework of the Jazz in Albania festival, the Poznan-based quintet Unleashed Cooperation will perform on Thursday, 24 October at the Academy of Arts, in the "Black Box Hall’ at 20:00 hrs. The concert of Unleashed Cooperation in Albania is part of a series of events organised in the framework of the JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana and the Albanian Jazz Society. The band consists of Krzysztof Kuśmierek - saxophone, Patryk Rynkiewicz - trumpet, Patryk Matwiejczuk - piano, Flavio Gullotta - double bass, Stanislaw Aleksandrowicz - drums.
The JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project has taken the form of an international concert tour and is inspired by the achievements of the Polish traveller Paweł Edmund Strzelecki, who was the first Pole to circumnavigate the world on his own initiative in the mid-19th century. As part of the project, Polish artists will perform live on four continents over the course of three years. The project began in May last year and so far more than 150 events were held in 21 countries, with 21 bands taking part. This is the second visit of a Polish jazz band to Albania as part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World" project. Last year, the band ZIEMIA performed in Tirana and Shkodra. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Radosław Sikorski assumed honorary patronage of the project.
The band Unleashed Cooperation explores various forms of musical expression in its artistic journey. The ideas guiding the group are openness in terms of genre, freedom and unrestrained musical expression. They are winners of several of the most important Polish jazz festivals, including Jazz Juniors, Jazz nad Odrą and Krokus Jazz Festival. The band has a very well-received album "8 Years" to their credit. The album, released in 2022, is the result of years of experience and musical exploration by the band members in the depths of free jazz, improvisation and ethnic music.
During their concerts in Albania, Unleashed Cooperation will promote their latest album "Trust", which is the next stage of their musical explorations involving improvisation, contemporary music, ethnic music and jazz. The whole, maintained in the convention of acoustic sound, refers to the music known from the recordings of Tomasz Stanko or Krzysztof Komeda. The quintet, as the spiritual heir to the great masters, develops their sound through a number of production procedures, giving the whole a modern and fresh sound.
The JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation is a non-governmental organisation presenting a broad spectrum of possibilities for Polish artists of the young generation. It helps to establish international cultural cooperation and integrates the communities of artists from many countries. It strives to refresh and strengthen the image of Polish jazz in the consciousness of foreign audiences. Since 2012, more than 500 events in 25 countries have been held as part of JAZZ PO POLSKU.
