Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski to Albania

On December 19, the head of Polish diplomacy, Radosław Sikorski, visited Tirana.
The program of the visit included a meeting with the Albanian counterpart, Igli Hasani, talks with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. At the meeting with the media, both ministers confirmed their will to strengthen cooperation between the countries, especially in the context of Albania's integration with the European Union. Minister Sikorski congratulated Albania on its progress, especially in the area of legal reforms, as well as the opening of the sixth negotiation chapter on foreign policy and security. MFA Sikorski presented a list of specific areas of potential support, tailored to the needs of the Albanian side. These areas include economic exchange, with an emphasis on growth sectors such as tourism, regional development, absorption of EU funds, strategic management in cohesion policy, public procurement or building the capacity of public administration in the process of negotiations and accession. Poland expressed its full readiness to continue supporting Albania in the integration process, including during the Polish presidency of the EU Council in 2025.
At the end of the visit, Minister Sikorski gave an interview to Radio and Television RTSH.

The visit was seen as an important step in strengthening Polish-Albanian relations and supporting Albania's integration with the EU.
