On the 12th of August 2022, on the occasion of the „Polish Armed Forces’ Day” (celebrated on the 15th August) the solemn ceremony was organized by the Defence Attaché’s Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
This day commemorates all heroes who have been fighting for freedom and independence of the Polish state throughout centuries. It was established to pay tribute to the ground-breaking victory of the Polish Armed Forces over the Bolshevik army in 1920, named afterwards the Battle of Warsaw.
Representatives of diplomatic missions, the Armenian Parliament, the Ministry of Defence of Armenia, the military diplomatic corps, non-governmental organisations, the Polonia association and personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland joined in the event.
Participants of the ceremony had a chance to listen to speeches delivered by both the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland and the Defence Attaché, see the exhibition presenting the Battle of Warsaw, images presenting the armed forces of the Republic of Poland and taste the Polish cuisine; all with Polish classic music (Chopin) and military marches in the background.
